‘‘The context where a design is implemented is crucial.’’
design in natures realm
Outdoor furniture designs are abundant, yet many simply replicate indoor pieces, creating a discord between the furniture and its natural setting. These human-made shapes often clash with the serene nature of outdoor environments. A new outlook focuses on designing pieces that blend with the environment rather than just weatherproofing indoor furniture. Osa‘s approach seeks to transform outdoor spaces into peaceful retreats where one can reconnect with nature.
Garden design across history reflects our evolving relationship with nature. In 17th and 18th century Europe, influenced by the Enlightenment and Industrial Revolution, gardens like Versailles, commissioned by Louis XIV, the famous Sun King, exemplified human dominance over nature through meticulous symmetry and grandeur. Osa‘s design philosophy diverges from this historical approach. Rather than imposing itself like a throne in a garden, Osa integrates seamlessly with natural environments to enhance relaxation and connection with nature.
the non ruler
The mood is effortlessly serene, with a lounge design that feels like sinking into a natural haven. Drawing inspiration from the smooth curves of an unknown gentle giant‘s skeleton, accented with a pop of color, these soft shapes add a playful, contemporary twist to every outdoor area.

Colorways
The flexible rotomold manufacturing process of Osa allows for a diverse range of color options, ranging from soft, natural tones to vibrant hues. By providing flexibility, individuals are empowered to create outdoor spaces that are not only functional but also visually harmonious and reflective of their personal style.

Anatomy of comfort
Finding inspiration for Osa‘s designs involved seeking elements that naturally belong in the outdoor environment. The concept draws inspiration from the skeleton of an unknown large animal, akin to the remains of a whale washed ashore. This zoomorphic approach offers an exciting and suitable aesthetic for outdoor spaces. Skeletons serve as a captivating source of inspiration as their organic curves seamlessly blend with the natural environment. Mimicking these soft and natural shapes, Osa‘s furniture provides optimal support and comfort, essential for prolonged outdoor use.

The idea of skeleton-inspired furniture evolved from initial sketches to clay models. Clay allowed for a tactile exploration of the shape, ensuring usability from both sides. The model was 3D scanned for accurate digital processing, aiding in adjustments and refinements. Variations were tested with a focus on aesthetics, and functionality and led to the final shape.

The lounge features a central drain, ensuring no water lingers—seamlessly blending practicality with poolside comfort.
